ABOUT US

Articentric was established in November 2019 to provide a fully equipped space for artists to hold workshops and meet with those interested in their work. We have a full and varied arts based workshop programme for adults, covering many artforms. Our workshop programme is launched twice a year – May for workshops running July to December and again in November for workshops running from January to June.

Articentric was established by Louise Goult, a local textile artist who found that suitable workshop space was hard to find in Saltburn. Louise strongly believes that art is fundamental to wellbeing and wanted to create a space where artists and those interested in learning art skills could come together in a comfortable environment. After several hurdles our first creative space was set up on Dundas Street West in 2019. In 2022 this space was no longer suitable for our needs, and we relocated to above Parlours of Saltburn.  Louise teaches our hand and free machine embroidery workshops.

Articentric is a Community Interest Company – which means it’s a not for profit company. Community Interest Companies are a type of limited company which exist to benefit its community rather than private shareholders. Our community are artists and those who like to come to workshops, so any profits made are ploughed back into supporting artists.

Our aim is to provide a creative, relaxing and enjoyable experience whilst you’re with us and for you to leave feeling restored and having learnt new skills. The creating of something with your own hands is very satisfying and we want to share this with as many people as possible! Our workshops are for adults and most cater for people of all levels of experience. We strongly believe that the process of creating is just as important as the outcome. All of our tutors are experienced and practising artist, dedicated to providing the best possible workshop for you.

At Articentric we are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where joy is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in the transformative power of joy and its ability to inspire, uplift, and bring people together. We are committed to curating experiences and workshops that not only nurture creativity and personal growth but also infuse a sense of joy into every interaction. Our aim is to provide a space where individuals  can freely express themselves, discover their untapped potential, and find pure joy in the process. We believe that by fostering an atmosphere of joy, we can create meaningful connections, celebrate accomplishments, and cultivate a community where everyone feels seen, appreciated and inspired. Join us on this joyous journey of self expression, exploration and connection.

People come to our workshops not only to learn new arts based skills but also to meet like minded people and have some quality me time.
