During this relaxed, creative workshop you will create a hand embroidered landscape inspired by a favourite place, a photograph, picture in a magazine or a completely imaginary landscape. You will learn how to select, place and layer fabrics or materials to create a background for your original artwork. This is followed by an exploration of a range of threads and hand embroidery stitches to build up the details and texture of the landscape and complete your artwork with embellishments if desired. Suitable for all levels of experience, even if you have never threaded a needle before. All materials and refreshments are included. Please bring a basic sewing kit if you have one and an image to work from if you would like to; feel free to bring along any threads or fabrics you would like to include in your work. The workshop runs from 10-3, with a break for lunch. Refreshments are provided, though you'll need to bring your own lunch. There's a fridge for packed lunches as well as lots of cafes close by.
